A trip to the Shura Council

Thanks to a friend of AIESEC, a few weeks back I was invited to be a guest at the Bahraini Al Shura Council (a part of the legislative branch in Bahrain appointed by the King).
I was shown around the chambers, where the laws are debated with a full service tour by one of the members of the council, Khalid Al Khalifa (shown with me).
Included in the visit was Arabic coffee, personal assistants to show you around (in and out at least), being introduced in an internal meeting to discuss upcoming law proposals/changes, and of course the customary visit to the commons.
All in all it was exciting, and I have a lot clearer of an idea about how things work here in the Government. I am still a little cloudy on some items, but as I learn I shall share :).
